Lost in Translation
Page top
When traveling abroad, you may find that things are not always as they seem, and things written in your native tongue may not mean what you think they do. This allows for some strange moments, as the meanings are lost in translation.
Recently I was in the Airport in Venice, and was waiting in line at the check in. I decided to check out the sign on the legal amounts of material that can be exported. As I remember, it listed some basic commodities such as food, alcohol, and other such items.
Then it mentioned toilet water. On the sign, it actually said, "toilette water, 25 grams". That was new. Why would anyone conceivably want to export toilet water? Give me your thoughts, then I'll finish the story.

Sorry about that. As I was saying, I don't know. I think that toilette water (ending with the T-E) can mean perfumed water. I bet that's what it meant.
I will be finishing my two unfinished posts shortly. Do you know if there is a way to change the date?
yui
Hmm... I don't know. You can always copy and paste the entire thing so it has today's date and is a new post, i guess... what are you trying to do?
